Citrusy

Citruses provide a refreshing and effarvescent feeling to fragrances, and include a spectrum of fruits or citrus-smelling raw materials (like verbena and lemongrass). Togethers with resins, citruses are among the most ancient ingredients in perfumery.

Essential oils are often cold-expressed to preserve the freshness of the ingredients. Petitgrain on the other hand, comes from the steam distillation of the twigs and leaves of the bitter orange tree. Next to lemons, limes and bergamot, many modern notes, such as  pomelo, grapefruit and yuzu are often found in contemporary fragrance compositions.
